Course overview
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about exploration, excitement, and experience. It is designed to advance your diving, not because you are “advanced,” but to *advance* your skills. You don’t need to be an experienced diver to take it—you can start right after your Open Water certification. This course helps build confidence and expands your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives, certifying you to dive to depths of *30 meters (100 feet)*.
What you’ll learn
This course focuses on practical diving experience. You will complete 5 Adventure Dives, which include:
Course Prerequisites
- 1PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent from another agency)

Minimum age: 12 years old (Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

Mandatory Dives
1. *Deep Dive:* Plan and execute a dive to 30 meters/100 feet
2. *Navigation Dive:* Use a compass to navigate a square pattern
Adventure Dives (Choose 3)
Choose from options like *Peak Performance Buoyancy*, *Night Diver*, *Wreck Diver*, *Drift Diver*, *Fish ID*, or *Digital Underwater Imaging*.
